Key facts
- A sink unit is a standard porta potty with a foot-pump hand sink, soap and paper towels inside.
- The sink holds its own fresh water and drains to a separate gray-water tank — no hose needed.
- For one or two units, a sink inside costs less than a separate hand-washing station.
- Hosts pick it when food is served, kids are coming, or the house should stay closed.
Why rent a porta potty with a sink?
Because guests wash their hands without walking back into the house. A sink unit puts a foot-pump sink, soap and towels inside the restroom, so the kitchen stays closed and the floors stay clean. One dispatcher explained it simply: guests “can wash their hands… you're not there with like messy hands.”

“We're just trying to keep everybody from going in and out the house.”
Sink inside, or a separate hand-washing station?
For one or two units, choose the sink inside: it's cheaper and takes no extra space. From three units up, a separate two-sided station near the food line serves more people. If you mix one sink unit with one plain unit, half your guests have to walk to the other door to wash.
| Setup | Best for | Typical Tyler event price |
|---|---|---|
| 1 porta potty with sink | Up to ~50 guests | $339–$399 |
| 2 standard units + 1 hand-wash station | 80–100 guests, food line | $660–$770 |
| 2 sink units | 80–100 guests, no food line | $650–$760 |
“But then that would mean that some people would use the other toilet, and then they'd have to go into the other toilet to wash their hands.”
Can a store or office use a sink unit during construction?
Yes, and it's the right unit for it. When a building's water is shut off, staff need a place to wash up, not just a toilet. A store manager in our log chose the sink unit over the plain one for staff during a water-main repair. For 28-day rentals, a sink unit runs about $279 per cycle with weekly service.

Questions callers asked us
How much is a porta potty with a sink inside?
A standard porta potty with a built-in hand sink runs about $339–$399 per event in Tyler, delivered and picked up. For a 28-day jobsite rental, a sink unit runs about $279 per cycle with weekly service. It is usually cheaper than renting a standard unit plus a separate hand-washing station.
Do I need the porta potty with a sink?
Choose a sink unit when food is served, children are attending, or the event lasts longer than three hours. Guests can wash up without walking back into the house. For a short adult gathering or a jobsite with sanitizer, a standard unit is enough.
Is a sink inside the unit better than a separate hand-washing station?
For one or two units, a sink inside is cheaper and saves space. For three or more units, a separate two-sided station by the food line serves more people. A caller pricing two toilets noticed the catch: with one sink unit and one plain unit, half the guests must walk to the other door to wash their hands.
What comes inside the porta potty?
Every unit arrives with two rolls of toilet paper, a urinal, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a deodorizer in the tank, a coat hook, a mirror and an occupied/vacant door latch. Sink units add soap, paper towels and fresh water. Monthly units are restocked at each weekly service.
Our store stays open during construction. Where does the unit go?
Behind the building, near the staff door, and out of the customer parking lot. A beauty supply store kept trading while its landlord dug up the water main behind it. Staff need a unit with a sink, delivered before opening. Ask for the 7–11 AM window.
Will it smell?
Not if it's clean, shaded and serviced on schedule. Event units arrive washed, with fresh deodorizer in the tank. Set the unit in afternoon shade under the pines, keep the door facing away from the patio, and for longer events of 100+ guests add a mid-event cleaning.
