Timing & scheduling

What's your daily rate on a porta potty?

There is no daily rate — Tyler event rentals are priced per event. Aaron Rental Works delivers on a weekday before your event and picks up the next business day, and that whole stay (up to five business days) costs the same as one afternoon. A Saturday birthday and a Friday-to-Monday reunion are the same price.

I only need it for a few hours. Is that cheaper?

No, and it isn't more expensive either. A porta potty costs the same for two hours or four days, because the price covers the truck trip out, the trip back, cleaning and disposal — not the hours on your lawn. One caller put it plainly: “for one day, not even a whole day.” The answer is the same flat event price.

Do you deliver on Saturday or Sunday?

Weekend events are delivered on Friday and picked up on Monday at no extra charge, so the unit is already set before your first guest arrives. Our trucks run Monday through Friday, with Saturday routes for urgent jobsite calls. The office answers Monday through Saturday, 7 AM–6 PM.

What happens on a holiday weekend like Labor Day or July 4th?

Holiday weekends are the first to sell out in Tyler. We deliver the Friday before and pick up the Tuesday after a Monday holiday, at the regular event price. In our phone log, holiday-weekend callers who waited a day to “check with family” were told the last unit could be gone, so book at least 7–10 days ahead.

How far ahead should I book?

Book 1–2 business days ahead for a jobsite unit, 1–2 weeks ahead for a weekend party, and 3–6 weeks ahead for weddings, races and festivals. Book 7–10 days ahead for Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day. Air-conditioned restroom trailers sell out first, so reserve those 4–8 weeks out.

Can I get one delivered tomorrow?

Yes, in most of Smith County. Order by 2 PM and the unit arrives the next business day, with no rush fee in our daily-route ZIPs (Tyler, Whitehouse, Lindale, Bullard, Flint, Chandler, Winona, Arp and Troup). Longview, Kilgore, Jacksonville, Canton and Athens run on scheduled route days. Call (903) 230-3888.

Can you deliver a porta potty today?

Sometimes. Call before 10 AM and dispatch checks whether a truck already heading your way has room. If it does, same-day delivery in Tyler costs about $75–$150 extra, and you'll hear that number before you pay. If not, you get the first slot the next morning.

Can you guarantee a morning delivery?

Ask for the 7–11 AM window when you book and dispatch confirms it the afternoon before. In our call log, a store manager paying a rush fee needed a unit before opening because “the employees don't really care about traffic. They just want it there in the morning.” For those jobs, we route your stop first.

What time will the driver show up?

Drivers deliver between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday, in route order. You can ask for a morning or afternoon window. The driver calls 30 minutes before arriving, and if nobody is home, the unit goes on the spot you texted us.

Will the driver call before he gets there?

Yes. Every delivery and pickup gets a call or text about 30 minutes ahead on the number you give us. Give a second number if you'll be at work — one caller asked us to use her own cell instead of the house line, which is exactly what the notes field is for.

When do you pick it up after the event?

Event units are picked up the next business day — Monday after a weekend, Tuesday after a holiday weekend. In a heavy week it can take up to two business days. The unit only needs to be reachable; you don't have to be home. Your rental price doesn't change if the truck arrives a day later.

Can you pick it up early? I'm home now.

Yes. Call or text dispatch and we move your pickup onto the next open route. A caller who'd asked for pickup “after 12” phoned back at 9 AM to say “I'm home now. So whenever you guys want to come pick up the unit, I'm home.” We noted it and the driver called 20 minutes before arriving.

We're waiting on a permit and don't know the exact date. Can we still book?

Yes. Pick your best-guess date now and change it for free any time before delivery. A homeowner building a small house in her backyard booked for the end of October while waiting on her permit; when the date moves, the price stays the same. That way you hold a unit without guessing perfectly.

Can I change my delivery date after I book?

Yes — date changes are free any time before the truck leaves the yard. Call or reply to your quote text. Your price stays the same unless you move into a holiday weekend that is already fully booked, in which case dispatch tells you before anything changes.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel at least 48 hours before the delivery date for a full refund. Inside 48 hours, the unit is usually already loaded on a route, so the delivery charge is kept and the rest is refunded. Rescheduling is always free, so most people move the date instead of canceling.

Can you hold the price while I check with my family?

We text you an itemized quote and honor that price for 48 hours. We can't hold the unit itself until you book, though. On busy weekends that matters: one caller had to wait for a family member to call back, and was warned the unit might be gone by then. If the date is firm, book it — date changes are free.

Cost & fees

How much does it cost to rent a porta potty in Tyler, TX?

A standard event porta potty in Tyler costs about $249–$290 all-in, with delivery, setup, cleaning and pickup included. A porta potty with a sink runs about $339–$399, and a flushable unit with a sink about $449–$500. Monthly construction units run about $179–$199 every 28 days plus a one-time $49 delivery.

How much is a porta potty with a sink inside?

A standard porta potty with a built-in hand sink runs about $339–$399 per event in Tyler, delivered and picked up. For a 28-day jobsite rental, a sink unit runs about $279 per cycle with weekly service. It is usually cheaper than renting a standard unit plus a separate hand-washing station.

How much is a flushable porta potty?

A flushable porta potty with a sink inside runs about $449–$500 per event in Tyler, including delivery, setup and removal. You get a foot-pump flush, a fresh-water sink and a toilet lid that hides the tank — or as one dispatcher put it, “you're not staring at nobody else's business.”

How much is a handicap-accessible porta potty?

A wheelchair-accessible (ADA) porta potty runs about $289–$339 per event in Tyler with delivery and pickup. It has a ground-level door, room to turn a wheelchair inside, and grab bars. Public events should plan at least one per cluster of units.

How much is a hand-washing station?

A freestanding hand-washing station runs about $180–$199 per event in Tyler, or about $186–$199 per 28 days on a jobsite. Ours are two-sided, with a foot pump, about 22 gallons of fresh water, soap and paper towels. Delivery is shared with any units dropped on the same trip.

How much is a restroom trailer with air conditioning?

A two-stall air-conditioned restroom trailer runs about $1,500–$2,500 per weekend in Tyler, including delivery, setup, restocking and pickup. The site needs a garden hose and a 20-amp, 110-volt outlet within 50 feet. Trailers sell out weeks ahead in spring and fall wedding season.

How much is a porta potty by the month?

A standard construction porta potty in Tyler runs about $179–$199 every 28 days, with one cleaning and restock each week included. Delivery is a one-time $49 charge, and pickup is included — there is no separate removal fee. A unit with a sink runs about $279 per 28 days.

Are there fuel surcharges, card fees or removal fees?

Not with us. In our phone log, callers heard about a $35 fuel surcharge, a $29 removal fee charged after pickup, $44–$97 delivery fees on every single unit, and rush fees for next-day. Aaron Rental Works quotes one all-in number: unit, delivery, pickup and service. No fuel surcharge, no card fee, no separate removal fee.

If I rent two units, do I pay delivery twice?

No. We charge one delivery fee per drop, not per unit. A caller pricing two toilets elsewhere was told the $97 delivery fee applied to each unit even on the same truck, which turned $520 into about $700. When your units ride on one truck to one address, you pay delivery once.

What's the total charged to my card?

Ask every company that exact question. Unit prices hide add-ons: one caller's “$249” became $292.47 after fees, and another's $270-per-unit quote became $592.20 for two. Our phone quote is the total, including tax, delivery and pickup. We text it to you itemized before you pay.

Do you give a discount for more than one unit?

Yes. Three or more units on the same drop get multi-unit pricing, and churches, schools and nonprofit races can ask about community rates. Because delivery is charged once per drop, adding a second unit already costs less than the first.

Why are porta potty quotes so different between companies?

Three reasons: unit grade, what is included, and who adds fees later. Some companies send scratched construction units to parties. Some quote the unit without delivery or removal. Some add fuel and card fees at checkout. Compare the total charged to your card for the same unit type, delivered and picked up.

What's the difference between an event unit and a construction unit?

Event units are our newest, cleanest units: washed, deodorized and fully stocked, priced per event. Construction units are built for daily crew use, priced every 28 days and serviced weekly. We never send a scuffed jobsite unit to a wedding or a backyard party.

Choosing a unit

Do I need the porta potty with a sink?

Choose a sink unit when food is served, children are attending, or the event lasts longer than three hours. Guests can wash up without walking back into the house. For a short adult gathering or a jobsite with sanitizer, a standard unit is enough.

Is a sink inside the unit better than a separate hand-washing station?

For one or two units, a sink inside is cheaper and saves space. For three or more units, a separate two-sided station by the food line serves more people. A caller pricing two toilets noticed the catch: with one sink unit and one plain unit, half the guests must walk to the other door to wash their hands.

What is a flushable porta potty?

A flushable porta potty has a foot-pump flush that rinses the bowl with blue fresh water and a lid that covers the holding tank, plus a hand sink inside. It looks and smells more like a real bathroom. Hosts choose it for weddings, showers and older guests.

Do I need a wheelchair-accessible porta potty?

If your event is open to the public, plan at least 5% of units in each cluster as accessible, minimum one, under the 2010 ADA Standards §213.2. For private parties, add one whenever a guest uses a wheelchair or walker. A race organizer in our log planned 12 standard and 2 accessible units — one accessible unit at each restroom cluster.

What does a restroom trailer need to run?

A restroom trailer needs a garden-hose water connection, a 20-amp, 110-volt outlet within about 50 feet, and level ground the truck can back onto. Air conditioning runs off that outlet. If the venue has no water, we add a fresh-water tank for a fee quoted up front.

The restroom trailer I wanted is booked. What now?

Book trailers 4–8 weeks ahead in spring and fall. If yours is sold out, a flushable unit with a sink plus a hand-washing station covers most guests at a fraction of the cost. A commercial building owner in our log needed a trailer two days out and got the answer every trailer company gives in September: fully booked.

Can I buy a used porta potty?

No — Aaron Rental Works only rents units, so every unit stays on our cleaning and inspection schedule. A rancher who wanted a damaged unit for a remote pasture asked the same thing. For ranches and hunting leases, a long-term rental with monthly service is the usual answer.

What comes inside the porta potty?

Every unit arrives with two rolls of toilet paper, a urinal, a hand sanitizer dispenser, a deodorizer in the tank, a coat hook, a mirror and an occupied/vacant door latch. Sink units add soap, paper towels and fresh water. Monthly units are restocked at each weekly service.

Will it smell?

Not if it's clean, shaded and serviced on schedule. Event units arrive washed, with fresh deodorizer in the tank. Set the unit in afternoon shade under the pines, keep the door facing away from the patio, and for longer events of 100+ guests add a mid-event cleaning.

Placement

Where should the porta potty go?

Pick a flat, firm spot the truck can reach within about 10 feet, on your property and away from low wires and parked cars. Callers chose “the side of our house,” “next to the shipping container, door side,” and “wherever I have a trash can sitting in my yard.” All three are good choices. Text us a photo with an arrow.

Can it go by the sidewalk or the street?

It can go near the curb on your own property, but not on the sidewalk or in the street, where it blocks walkers and can draw a city complaint. A front-yard spot beside the driveway works best for homes in Tyler's older neighborhoods with narrow side yards.

Can the driver push it across the grass?

Yes, for short distances on firm, level ground — drivers roll units on a dolly about 30–50 feet from the truck. After an East Texas rain, red clay turns soft and slick, so we may set it on the driveway edge instead. Tell us about slopes, steps or gates when you book.

It rained. Can you still deliver on red clay?

Usually, if the truck can stay on the driveway or road. Our trucks don't drive onto soaked red clay or fresh sod, because they rut the yard. The driver sets the unit on the nearest firm ground and calls you. For farms and new build lots, a gravel pad or the end of the drive is ideal.

What blocks a delivery?

Low wires, branches under 12 feet, parked cars, locked gates and loose dogs block the most deliveries. Move cars the night before, unlock the gate and tell us about pine limbs over the drive. If the driver can't place the unit safely, he calls you before leaving.

Do I have to be home for delivery?

No. Text a photo of the spot with an arrow, unlock the gate and keep pets inside. The driver sets the unit, snaps a photo and texts it to you. Many Tyler callers are at work on delivery day, just like the caller who said she'd be at work until two.

Builds & businesses

The city says I need a porta potty for my building permit. Can you help?

Yes. Many residential permits require a jobsite toilet once work starts. We deliver a standard unit on a 28-day cycle with weekly service and can text a rental confirmation for your permit file. Schedule it for your expected start date and move the date for free if the permit is late.

We're building a barndominium. When should the porta potty arrive?

The day before framing starts. A barndominium owner in our log called the evening before the framers arrived — “they are coming to start framing tomorrow” — and asked if that was too fast. In Smith County it usually isn't, if you order by 2 PM. Plan about two months for most barndominium shells.

How many porta potties does my crew need?

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 Table D-1 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, then 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers. Our units include a urinal. A 68-unit apartment build that starts with a few framers can begin with two units and add more as trades arrive.

How often do you clean a monthly porta potty?

Once a week, included in the 28-day price: pump the tank, scrub the seat, floor and walls, wipe the sink, and restock paper, sanitizer and deodorizer. Big crews or summer heat can add a second weekly visit for a quoted price.

Can I get an extra cleaning before an inspection or open house?

Yes. Call by 2 PM and we add a one-time service on the next route, priced on the phone before we come. Builders often book an extra clean before a walk-through, and homeowners before a family visit.

Can I keep a porta potty for six months?

Yes. Monthly rentals renew every 28 days at the same rate with weekly service, and you can stop any time — billing ends on the day you call for pickup. Callers have kept units for camper stays, lake-lot builds and deer-lease seasons.

Our building's restrooms will be down for a sewer repair. Can you help?

Yes. When a plumber shuts the water off or a sewer line is being replaced, tenants and staff still need restrooms. We deliver a unit with a sink, or a restroom trailer if one is free, for the outage days. A strip-center owner in our log needed two days of coverage while sewer lines were repaired.

Our store stays open during construction. Where does the unit go?

Behind the building, near the staff door, and out of the customer parking lot. A beauty supply store kept trading while its landlord dug up the water main behind it. Staff need a unit with a sink, delivered before opening. Ask for the 7–11 AM window.

Can you send a certificate of insurance?

Yes. General contractors and property managers can request a certificate of insurance naming the site owner when they book. A builder in our log explained why: “everybody that comes onto our job site, we ask for insurance in case something happens.” We email it within one business day.

Can my company open an account?

Yes. Builders, roll-off companies, churches and property managers can open an account with one monthly invoice across all sites, emailed W-9 and COI, and a named dispatcher. A company that rents often should ask for contractor pricing on 5+ units.

Events & booking

How many porta potties do I need for my party?

Plan 1 standard unit per 50 guests for a 4-hour event, 1 per 40 up to 6 hours, and 1 per 30 up to 8 hours, then add one more if alcohol is served. A 40-person party needs one unit. A 100-guest, four-hour event needs two — the same answer a caller got for her 100-guest gathering.

How many porta potties for a 5K or half marathon?

Plan about 1 unit per 75–100 runners at the start/finish and 1–2 units at each aid station, with at least one accessible unit per cluster. A first-time half-marathon organizer in our log planned 14 units — 12 standard and 2 accessible — with most at the start/finish and a standard plus an accessible unit at the halfway aid station.

How many units for a church vendor fair?

For 50 vendors and a few hundred shoppers over 4–6 hours, plan 2–3 standard units and one hand-washing station near any food. A church in our log planned “maybe one, possibly two” units and a hand-washing station for its first vendor event. Book the Friday before, since we deliver ahead of Saturday events.

We're having a family reunion at Mom's house. Do we really need one?

If more than about 25 people will be there for more than a few hours, yes. One caller said it best: “we're just trying to keep everybody from going in and out the house.” One unit protects the home's septic system and floors. Add a second unit at 50+ guests.

I've never rented a porta potty. How does it work?

Call, give the address, date, guest count and where it should go. We quote one total on the phone and text it to you. We deliver on a weekday before the event, you use it, and we pick it up the next business day. One mom calling for her daughter said, “I never rented a porta potty in my life.” It's that simple.

Are you local?

Yes. Aaron Rental Works runs its trucks from a yard at 2520 E 5th St in Tyler, and dispatch plans Smith County routes every afternoon. You can call the yard at (903) 230-3888 Monday through Saturday, 7 AM–6 PM.

How do I pay?

Pay by card over the phone or through a secure link in your texted invoice, then sign the invoice on your phone with your finger. We never ask you to email or text a card number. Businesses can pay by check or account invoice.
